Dalene Dickson is based in Pietermaritzburg where she obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology. She is a retired language teacher, school guidance counsellor and marketing director for a bookshop.

During her career she proofread psychology publications, and was a regular newspaper columnist and book reviewer. She was involved in the biography Mac: The Face of Rugby by John Bishop and co-authored the book Talking Balls with him under her nickname, Tiki. This is her first work of fiction.
