About the Author:

Johan J Van Rensburg was born in Somerset West and went to school, studied and worked in the financial services industry in Cape Town. In 1983 he was transferred to Johannesburg, where at the end of 2015 he retired after 45 years, serving in various senior positions.

Doing the Cape to Cairo route had always been a dream. When a friend suggested they carry on to London to watch the World Cup, he jumped at the opportunity to combine his passions for both travel and rugby.
