My book tells my unique story where I relate the trials and triumphs from parts of my journey of fighting prostate cancer, its related complications of acute renal failure and the complications of the late side-effects of cancer treatments. In my book I acknowledge and highlight the value of maintaining good relationships.
Gabriel Kutama, an elderly illegal from across the border, is mugged at a Soweto taxi rank. He ends up at the house of Portia, a single mother who tends to his bruises. She allows him to stay on in a room at the back of her house.
But Gabriel is no ordinary man, for he is the former President of the country north of the South African border, presumed dead after a military coup. His wife has fled to London with their three children.

Of course you want to be successful. Everybody does! But have you ever taken the time to think and establish what, exactly, this concept of success means to you? This has to be the starting point, for you can never attain anything in life without first being absolutely clear on what that ‘thing’ is. Many of us jump onto the traditional bandwagon which has been created and perpetuated by society in general, where a good job; a good salary; a nice house; a nice car etc. are the things we chase, often mindlessly, in order to be considered successful. In other words, money (and the things it can buy) equals success.
