In Mulenga’s charming story, these birds are the best of friends. They do everything together, and they play together every single day. They especially loved to fly high up into the sky together and look down on all the people and other animals of the world. One such flight, the birds noticed a group of humans carrying heavy logs of wood, The birds followed them until they arrived at a building site near the edge of a lake. Robbie and Debbie see that an old man (Noah) and a few friends are building an ark. When it begins to rain, the two birds scramble inside with all the other animals. And that is how the raven and the dove are on hand to play their important parts. Of course, the story ends when Debbie the dove returns to the ark with a twig of leaves between her beak, and Noah knows that the floods are beginning to recede.
