‘There is no relationship between money and salvation.’ This is one of the recurring themes in this book of 260 aphorisms, all from the pen of author Bishop Mogodiri. In a previous book, he made reference to ‘the purse robbers and tithe cheats’ of many of the charismatic churches operating in South Africa today. But there is more besides. The aphorisms begin with ‘Faith is our unique access to divinity’ and ends with ‘What Christians should learn from atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, is that love is powerful. It is what all belief systems share.’ Although expansive on ideas and wisdom, the book is physically small, specifically designed to fit comfortably in pocket or handbag.
